The Department of Health has revealed the destination for the administrative and health facilities of Castelló's 'Casa Gran', known as the Huerto Sogueros building, during its comprehensive renovation period. The 9 d'Octubre center and the Trullols Primary Care Point (PAC) will be temporarily located at Gasset street number 1, a building that previously housed the Cajamar headquarters.
To adapt this new space, the Generalitat has already tendered for architecture and engineering services for project drafting and construction management. The contract has a base budget of 71,592.81 euros. Interested companies can visit the building on August 12 and submit their offers until September 4.
This step follows the publication on June 27 in the Official Gazette of the Generalitat Valenciana (DOGV) of Sanidad's search for an alternative property. Requirements included a location within the consolidated urban center of Castelló, with good accessibility and visibility, a functional urbanized environment, and a minimum usable area of 1,400 m², with a ground floor of at least 400 m² and upper floors of 250 m².
The property needed to have a high degree of natural light and ventilation, as well as a good general state of conservation and functionality in its sanitation, plumbing, electricity, and air conditioning systems.
As an alternative, a functional equivalent based on shared workspaces (coworking) for a minimum of 60 workstations was accepted, including rest areas, reprographics, archives, and other auxiliary spaces. At least 30 independent offices of 18 m² each for attention, inspection, or management functions were also required.
The Generalitat will allocate a total of 20 million euros to the renovation of the 'Casa Gran'. The mayor of Castelló, Begoña Carrasco, highlighted the necessity of this action to renew the facilities and expand healthcare services, gaining space with the planned relocation of the Territorial Directorate.
