The Director General of Entrepreneurship, Mónica Payá, chaired the first meeting of the working group on financing and investment of the Valencian Entrepreneurship Council (CVE). The objective is to identify specific needs of the entrepreneurial ecosystem, transform them into challenges, and advance in the search for solutions that can generate new opportunities for companies, startups, and entities in the Valencian Community.
Directors from the European Business and Innovation Centres (CEEIs), along with representatives from business associations and confederations, universities, and investors from the Comunitat, participated in the session. This meeting marks the start of a new working dynamic promoted by the Council in coordination with Ivace+i and the CEEI CV Network.
The Conselleria d'Indústria, led by Marián Cano, aims to create a space for collaboration and strategic planning for all ecosystem stakeholders, with continuous monitoring and real capacity to influence public entrepreneurship policies.
Mónica Payá highlighted that financing remains one of the main challenges, and the goal is to prevent Valencian projects from having to seek necessary capital for growth externally. To this end, she stressed the need to strengthen investment mechanisms, improve the connection between entrepreneurs and investors, and attract national and international capital.
Emphasis was placed on leveraging the new strategies of the European Union, focusing on the growth of startups and scaleups, mobilizing private investment, and removing barriers to business development.
The working group's methodology will include an analysis of the current situation, a mapping of existing resources, identification of needs and areas for improvement, and work on concrete and viable proposals. Payá underlined that entrepreneurship is a shared responsibility requiring commitment from institutions, companies, financial entities, and knowledge centers.
The working group will continue its activity with two more sessions scheduled for October 27th and November 11th at CEEI Valencia.
Financing and Investment is the first of five working groups to be launched. The subsequent groups will be Rural Entrepreneurship, Dual Technologies, Technological Transfer, and Health and Well-being. Each will comprise companies and entities with expertise in their specific fields and will hold three working sessions.
