The Generalitat has applied rent subsidies in the regional public housing stock to 328 families in the province of Castellón, with a total contribution of 383,665 euros. These reductions, managed by EVHA, can reach up to 90% of the rent for those households that meet vulnerability criteria.
The calculation of aid is based on the rent amount, family income, and the number of members in the household. Across the entire Comunitat Valenciana, since July 2025, these subsidies have been applied to 1,955 families, with an accumulated allocation of 1.99 million euros.
The province of Castellón accounts for approximately 17% of the total beneficiary families in the region. The average contribution per family in Castellón is estimated at around 1,170 euros, although the actual amount varies according to the economic circumstances of each household. The information provided does not break down data by municipality.
The general director of EVHA, Estefanía Martínez, highlighted that in certain cases the reduction can reach 90%, aiming to align the amount paid by each household with its economic capacity and reduce residential vulnerability.
In addition to the general system, EVHA offers specific subsidies for large and single-parent families, with reductions ranging between 15% and 40% depending on income. Access to these reductions depends on meeting the established requirements.
Across the Comunitat Valenciana, since July 2025, a total of 1,993,891 euros has been allocated to reduce rental income for 1,955 families. Valencia accounts for the largest share with 990 families (991,931 euros), followed by Alicante with 637 families (618,294 euros), and Castellón with 328 families (383,665 euros).
EVHA also conducts information campaigns and individual interviews with residents of public housing, in collaboration with the Social Mediation Service and municipal social services, to verify the circumstances that justify the rent reductions.
