These awards return with the objective of valuing initiatives that improve the relationship between local administrations and citizens, incorporate new formats and channels, and demonstrate the capacity of municipalities to innovate in closer communication. Municipalities, intermunicipal associations, and minor local entities from the Valencian Community with projects developed during 2026 are eligible to participate.
The awards feature five categories: Award for Innovation in Local Communication; Award for Close and Participatory Public Communication; Award for the Best Local Communication Campaign; Award for Local Communication Strategy; and Honorary Award for Career in Local Communication. The four competitive categories each include three prizes with a total economic endowment of 2,250 euros, distributed as 1,000 euros for the first prize, 750 for the second, and 500 for the third. Winners will also receive a trophy and a certificate. The Honorary Award will be purely honorific.
Winning projects will be disseminated as best practice examples through the FVMP's channels, fostering the exchange of experiences among local entities. The first edition already showcased the diversity and quality of municipal initiatives, recognizing projects from seven municipalities including Alberic, Riba-roja de Túria, Cortes de Arenoso, Algemesí, Gandia, and Elche.
Interested local entities can submit their candidacies until next September 30, 2026. Required documentation includes the application form, a project descriptive report (maximum ten pages), the budgetary certificate, and a sworn statement of authorship. The process will continue with a rectification period (October 1-8), candidate evaluation (October 13-23), announcement of the winners (October 26), and the award ceremony in November 2026.
With this second edition, the FVMP aims to continue promoting more innovative, close, and citizen-needs-oriented local public communication, while recognizing the work of professionals and teams developing new ways to inform and engage with residents.
