Negotiations between the teaching sector and the Conselleria de Educación regarding the increase in public positions in schools and institutes have not yielded any positive agreement. Unions STEPV, CCOO, ANPE, and CSIF have described the Sectoral Table meeting as a "new waste of time," criticizing that the announcement of 5,000 positions does not represent a real increase, as 2,800 were already accounted for to cover incoming student enrollment.
According to the majority union STEPV, the effective increase in jobs is only 2,200, a figure they deem "insufficient" to meet the needs of educational centers. Furthermore, they have criticized the administration's lack of an implementation calendar, a document that was presented in previous negotiations.
CCOO has lamented that the Conselleria is setting a "ceiling" of 5,000 positions based on limitations from the Ministry of Finance, highlighting the sector's staff shortage. The union has called for an economic report, a complete calendar, territorial distribution, and guarantees regarding the structural nature of the new positions before accepting the proposed limit.
For its part, CSIF has focused on the new part-time positions, which hinder their consolidation as a structural workforce. They have emphasized that positions to cover the increase in students for the next school year should be additional to the 5,000 promised.
ANPE has assessed the negotiation as an attempt to reach an agreement "conditioned by the ceiling set by the Ministry of Finance" and not by the shortcomings of the centers. They have agreed that more than half of the positions (56%) correspond to a "natural growth of personnel" and not an additional increase for the needs of the Valencian educational system.
