The beaches of Castelló have been crowded with people wanting to witness the astronomical eclipse, causing long queues for buses and the TRAM service connecting the city to the coast. Demand has been so high that both buses and surface public transport are packed.
To avoid traffic problems, the Castelló City Council has recommended that citizens use public transport instead of private vehicles. A special mobility plan has been organized to facilitate access to the designated observation areas for the phenomenon.
Shuttle buses have been arranged with a frequency of 15 to 20 minutes, operating until 2:30 AM. These buses run from Plaça Borrull to Gurugú beach. Additionally, the TRAM service has also been reinforced to accommodate the influx of people.
In addition, the City Council has made several park-and-ride facilities available to citizens. These are located at Universitat Jaume I (UJI), the Trade Fair and Market Grounds, the Carrefour shopping center on Avenida del Mar, and a parking lot next to San Cristóbal school (former site of the Monday market).
The municipal organization advises using public transport or the park-and-ride facilities to enjoy the event comfortably and safely during this exceptional day.
