The city of Castelló celebrated this morning the feast of Saint Christopher, patron saint of drivers, with a mass at the Concatedral de Santa María and the traditional vehicle blessing.

The first deputy mayor of Castelló, Sergio Toledo, and the Councilor for Festivities, Noelia Selma, along with other government councilors, attended the mass in honor of Saint Christopher at the Concatedral de Santa María. The celebration was presided over by the festival queens, Clara Sanz and Ana Colón, accompanied by the city's ladies-in-waiting, the president of the Junta de Festes, Raúl Collazos, and representatives of the gaiateras commissions.
After the Eucharist, the bells of the Fadrí tower were rung to announce the festival, culminating in a fireworks display. Saint Christopher is one of the patron saints of the city of Castelló.
Subsequently, the Queens and authorities moved to the exterior of the Concatedral, on Arcipreste Balaguer street and Mayor street, where the traditional blessing of vehicles and distribution of commemorative ribbons took place. Hundreds of people brought their cars and other vehicles to be blessed and to collect the ribbons.
Noelia Selma noted that 1,500 commemorative ribbons were distributed, emphasizing that it is an event that fulfills a tradition followed year after year by the residents of Castellón. The councilor highlighted that this celebration captures the essence of the most traditional Castellón and thanked the collaboration of all those who make these events possible, which keep alive the roots and traditions of the city.
