The events began in the morning with a floral offering at the casa de l'Olivera, the monarch's former residence in the Vila. Throughout the day, the historical bond between the city and the king was highlighted, as he visited the municipality on several occasions and abdicated to his son in this town.
The program continued in the afternoon at Parc de la Troballa, where more than 400 people attended a theatrical route. The activity, coordinated by a specialized company with the collaboration of local entities, represented three key episodes: the capitulation of the Vila in 1242, the story of Ginesa, and the monarch's abdication in plaça del Carbó.
This commemoration is part of an annual program of cultural activities that seeks to highlight the historical and natural heritage of Alzira. Throughout the year, conferences, guided tours, and the exhibition of relevant documents such as the Llibre dels Privilegis have been held to strengthen the Valencian identity.
