Castellón Airport has reached its best historical mark for the month of September, with a total of 45,900 passengers. This increase represents a year-on-year growth of 15.8%. In the year-to-date cumulative, the facility has handled 295,484 users, an increase of 13% compared to the same period last year.
Raquel París, General Director of Aerocas, has highlighted that the September figures "confirm the positive evolution and consolidation of the airport's growth." París attributed this success to the good performance of regular routes and the contribution of charter operations, such as the one linked to the Cersaie fair in Bologna.
The General Director detailed that the summer campaign has been exceptional, with the three best monthly records in the airport's history: 49,250 passengers in July, 52,328 in August, and 45,900 in September.
París added that the annual cumulative, with 295,484 passengers and an increase of 34,168 users, "supports the strategy of route expansion and diversification." This allows us to confirm the forecast that 2026 will be the year with the highest commercial traffic in the airport's history.
These results "reinforce the airport's role as a key infrastructure for connectivity, tourism, and the economic development of the province of Castellón," concluded the General Director.
During the summer campaign, Castellón Airport managed the largest number of regular routes in its trajectory, reaching 16 connections. Of these, eleven remain operational during October, including destinations such as Budapest, Krakow, Berlin, Milan, London, Madrid, among others.
Regarding operations, the airport recorded 11,887 aircraft movements in September, a 19% increase compared to the previous year. The annual balance of operations also amounts to 11,887.
