The town of Benifaió celebrates the arrival of a new centenarian, Amparo Tortosa Forés, who turned 100 last Monday and received a visit from local authorities.

Benifaió has a new centenarian resident. Amparo Tortosa Forés, born on October 12, 1926, celebrated her 100th birthday last Monday.
To mark this significant milestone, Mayor Marta Ortiz and the Councilor for the Elderly María José Piles visited the new centenarian to congratulate her on behalf of the entire town. They presented her with a bouquet of flowers and a commemorative scroll.
Amparo was surrounded by part of her large family: she has 3 children, 6 granddaughters, and 8 great-grandchildren. According to her family, she reaches this century of life 'in good health, with good genetics, she has always looked younger than she is.' Her sister Carmen, aged 89 and also with good genetics, attended the celebration.
Amparo, who was widowed 25 years ago, was a modern woman for her time, enjoying going to restaurants from a young age. As a housewife, she worked in the typical jobs of the era in Benifaió, such as dusting cocoa, a task her family describes as proof of her bravery.
From the municipal newspaper, many congratulations, Amparo, and may you continue to do so well!
