The Beneixida City Council has concluded the participatory diagnosis phase for the waste management improvement project. This initiative, funded by the Provincial Council of Valencia and the Generalitat Valenciana, has used street surveys, information stands, and direct consultations with the industrial sector to map out the service's current needs.
Among the main conclusions, citizen concern about uncontrolled waste dumping from neighboring towns stands out. To curb this, residents have prioritized the implementation of smart bins opened by card or key for registered residents. There is also a call to strengthen environmental discipline with surveillance cameras in problematic areas to penalize uncivilized waste abandonment.
For its part, the business community has requested the installation of specific container islands in the industrial estate. This key infrastructure would facilitate source separation for companies and prevent the collapse of residential bins.
The contributions collected will serve as a technical basis for future service investments and innovations, ensuring they directly address the demands expressed by the citizens and the commercial/industrial sector of Beneixida.
