The Utiel Fairgrounds became the epicenter of gastronomy and local camaraderie with the celebration of the 39th Paella Contest. This year, the event organized by the Utiel City Council has broken participation records with the preparation of over 80 paellas.
A festive atmosphere took over the space from the moment ingredients were distributed to the participants. The evening was marked by culinary skill, teamwork, and the reunion of neighbors, groups, and visitors around the most emblematic dish of the Valencian Community.
After a complex deliberation by the jury, responsible for assessing the cooking point, texture, and flavor, the verdict of this thirty-ninth edition was announced. The 1st Prize was awarded to the first paella presented by the Falla Plaza de San Juan, presented by the Mayor of Utiel, Ricardo Gabaldón. The 2nd Prize was awarded to María Elisa García, representing the Peña Disfrutones, and presented by the Queen of the Fair and Festivals, Marta Pérez. The 3rd Prize went to the Peña Kañamón, presented by the Councilor for Festivals, Rubén Murcia.
The Utiel City Council has extended its congratulations to all the winners and expressed its deep gratitude to the collectives, groups, and residents who, with their active participation, continue to promote and keep this great festive tradition alive.
