The new cars, Peugeot 3008 models, are equipped with a specific police kit for transporting detainees. This acquisition is part of the leasing contract with an option to purchase that the council maintains to renew the municipal fleet.
The Councilor for Public Security and Emergencies noted that this renewal responds to the municipal commitment to provide officers with the best possible resources. According to the official, using safer and more efficient vehicles allows for a faster response to any incident in the city.
In addition to fleet improvements, the council highlighted its policy of collaboration with other municipalities. Recently, Vila-real has temporarily provided police resources to neighboring towns to address exceptional situations, such as support given to Betxí during the forest fire in Vall d'Uixó or reinforcements sent to Burriana for the Arenal Sound event.
