The extinguishing device, made up of more than 400 personnel, has managed to improve the situation thanks to a meteorological window of opportunity during the afternoon and night. Increased humidity and decreased wind have facilitated ground operations and the flight of aerial assets, which had been inoperative during the morning for safety reasons.
Authorities have confirmed that residents of areas such as Carbonaire, Toledo, Colonia San Antonio, and the Sant Josep site have been able to access their homes again. Likewise, the lifting of the lockdown for the rest of the city is planned, which would allow thousands of people to gradually return to normal life.
Regarding critical points, work has focused on the areas of Aín, Betxí, and the surroundings of Tales and Onda. Although the fire has affected an extensive area, those in charge of the operation have indicated that the fronts are now more delimited and under control, avoiding major risk situations on key roads.
On the other hand, security has been guaranteed in the evacuated areas, with no incidents related to theft or looting reported. Emergency services continue to work to consolidate the perimeter and protect residential areas against any possible flare-ups.
