The Onda City Council has concluded the renovation of San Valentín street, transforming it into a pedestrian thoroughfare with significant improvements in drainage and resident access.

The Onda City Council has finalized the intervention on San Valentín street, an action focused on renewing the pavement and correcting slopes to optimize rainwater evacuation towards the sewage system. Additionally, improvements have been made to the drinking water network, and the street now has restricted vehicle access, permitted only for residents with authorized permits.
According to municipal sources, this intervention addresses residents' demands regarding water accumulation, leaks, and dampness affecting building facades and ground floors during rainfall. The municipal diagnosis identified the deterioration of the old pavement and inadequate street inclination as the root causes, hindering water flow to drains and causing puddles.
The renovation included ground leveling and modified slopes to channel water to the sewage system. The street's new configuration also features renewed pavement with imprinted concrete and a single-level design, aiming to enhance pedestrian traffic and safety.
The most notable change is the transformation of San Valentín street into a primarily pedestrian zone. Vehicle circulation will be limited, except for residents with authorized permits. This measure aims to reduce vehicle presence and foster a safer, more walkable environment.
The Councilor for Public Works, Vicente Ramón, highlighted that the works respond to residents' requests and the need to resolve detected structural issues.
