During the patron saint festivals in Nules, a 'Punt PAVE' (Specialized Attention Point) has been deployed once again. This specialized service is designed to address cases of gender-based violence, chemical submission, and LGTBIfobia. The initiative is strategically located at events with the highest concentration of attendees and is complemented by an ambulance service and a bracelet system to help locate lost minors.
The 'Punt PAVE', developed by the Valencian Community's LGTBI Autonomous Platform, implements three distinct protocols tailored to the type of incident. Councilor for Equality Policies, Gemma Carratalá, explained that the system aims to adapt care to each victim's circumstances, offering a differentiated response based on the detected situation and serving as both a preventative and awareness-raising tool.
The device was operational during the 'Sopar de Germanor' (Fellowship Dinner), an event that drew approximately 4,500 people. The 'Punt PAVE' is scheduled to be available again for the costume ball on Thursday, August 27th, and the council plans to install it at some of the mobile discos programmed throughout the festive week, although specific locations and exact times have not yet been detailed.
In addition to prevention and care for potential aggressions, the 'Punt PAVE' includes an ambulance service. For the safety of children, identification bracelets are offered. These bracelets are linked to a contact phone number provided by parents or guardians, facilitating the location of children who may get lost during crowded events.
According to Carratalá, the initiative aims to help prevent sexist behavior, intimidation, and potential assaults during the patron saint festivals. This program, now in its second year, focuses on events that attract a larger number of people.
The City Council has not provided data regarding interventions from the previous year, the number of individuals assisted, or the cost of this year's device, information that would be valuable for a more precise assessment of the service's usage and scope.
