Nules celebrates Sant Roc festivities with a packed schedule of events

The Sant Roc festivities in Nules kick off today, July 31, with a program running until August 16, combining tradition, family fun, music, and culture.

The Sant Roc festivities in Nules begin today, July 31, and will continue until August 16, offering a varied program for all audiences. Activities will primarily take place in the coastal urban center and will include everything from workshops and family events to bullfighting, sports, and proposals to highlight the heritage of the town's beaches.
The initial days of the festivities feature initiatives such as the 5th Tomato Festival and the 'Casetes obertes' workshop, focusing on maritime traditions and the historical heritage of the beaches. There will also be ceramics and preserve-making workshops, as well as the Feria de Oportunidades y ONG (Opportunities and NGO Fair), which will open on Saturday, August 1.
On Sunday, August 2, the 21st Maritime Crossing-Mediterranean Cup for adults and minors will take place, along with a guided tour titled 'Los valores de un pueblo. 100 años junto al mar' (The values of a town. 100 years by the sea), exploring the architectural and historical heritage of the beaches. The day will conclude with the fair's closing and a dance for seniors.
The program will continue with diverse activities such as the 'farolets' (little lighthouses) workshop on Thursday, August 6, a parade with 'dimonis' (devils) and giants, bull exhibitions and 'toros embolados' (bulls with flaming horns) on August 7 and 8, and fishing contests on August 9 and 15. There will also be water festivals, children's games, and an escape room for young people.
A notable astronomical event will be the total solar eclipse scheduled for Wednesday, August 12, which will require protective measures for observation. Music will be featured with a tribute concert to Il Divo on Thursday, August 13.
The festivities also include sporting events such as the 42nd Volta a Peu Sant Roc (Sant Roc 10k Race) on Saturday, August 15, with races for minors and adults, and the III Sant Bartomeu Trophy for Cycling Schools on Sunday, August 16. The day will conclude with a mass in honor of Sant Roc, a solemn procession, and a fireworks display.
