The Generalitat Valenciana, the Provincial Council of Castellón, and the Moncofa City Council are promoting the 13th Book Fair, which opened its doors this Friday on the promenade.

Moncofa inaugurated this Friday, July 31st, the 13th edition of its Book Fair, a cultural event that will run until Sunday, August 2nd. The promenade has been transformed into a large space dedicated to literature, with significant participation from sector professionals and public interest from the outset.
The fair, located parallel to Mare Nostrum Avenue, is open from 6:00 PM to 12:00 AM. Attendees can discover new publications, purchase books, converse directly with authors, and participate in presentations and activities for all ages. The Councilor for Culture, Ilenia Begnozzi, highlighted the broad representation of bookstores and publishers and a comprehensive program.
Around twenty entities are participating, including Cómics de Colección, Malian Editora, Librería Galeradas, Tirant lo Groc, Bullent, Postdata Ediciones, Editorial Cosquillas, Sargantana Editorial, Librería Argot, Notting Hill, among others. This diversity allows visitors to find publications across various genres and themes, discover independent publishers, and obtain signed copies.
A key focus is the children's area, featuring storytelling sessions to introduce reading to the youngest. The first activity, Cuentos caóticos (Chaotic Tales), by Rebombor Cultural, will take place this Friday at 8:00 PM. On Saturday, La noche de Adán (The Night of Adam) will be presented (10:00 PM), and on Sunday, Cuentos en la playa (Tales on the Beach) will conclude the children's program (7:30 PM). Editorial Cosquillas will also offer events like El muñeco que hace reír (The Doll That Makes You Laugh), ¿Me regalas una caja? (Will You Give Me a Box?), and Uno para dos (One for Two).
The fair also includes a zone for literary presentations and book signings, featuring both local authors and writers from other municipalities. On Saturday, August 1st, notable presentations include Sierra Espadán, territorio morisco by Ángel Latorre Latorre (7:00 PM) and 11 rutas distintas para subir a Pipa (11 Different Routes to Climb Pipa) by Joaquín Emilio Martí Segarra (8:00 PM). Throughout the weekend, numerous writers will be available for signings.
The location on the promenade is another major attraction, blending culture with the Mediterranean landscape. Ilenia Begnozzi highlighted it as a pleasant environment for both professionals and the public, facilitating attendance for residents and holidaymakers alike.
Saturday's program includes, in addition to presentations, book sales and author meet-and-greets. The fair will conclude on Sunday with the children's session Cuentos en la playa. With this edition, the Moncofa City Council reinforces its commitment to culture and the promotion of reading, offering a platform for the publishing sector.
