Villarreal has defeated Levante 1-0 in a friendly match held at the José Manuel Llaneza Sports City in Vila-real, serving as preparation for the new season.

The match provided an opportunity to see the new signings for both teams. For Villarreal, goalkeeper Péter Gulácsi played the entire game with good saves. For Levante, forward Musuayi debuted, and Mathew Ryan returned after playing in the World Cup with Australia.
The first half was dominated by Villarreal, although Levante had the clearest chances, with shots from Brugué and Mandi that came close to scoring. The home goalkeeper, Cuñat, also had to make a save from a Pépé free-kick.
After halftime, Villarreal secured the winning goal in the 62nd minute thanks to Logan Costa. The player from Cape Verde beat Mathew Ryan with a low shot after a scrambled play inside the box.
With this result, both teams head into the final stretch of preseason. Villarreal will start their league campaign on August 16th away to Racing de Santander, while Levante will do so on the same day against Espanyol.
