The incident occurred a few days ago in the municipality of Vila-real. Officers requested that the bicycle riders perform the test, but they refused to cooperate. Given this situation, the police force proceeded to file the corresponding reports and remove the vehicles from circulation.
The security force has reminded the public that people traveling by bicycle are considered drivers and, therefore, are required to comply with traffic regulations. This includes the obligation to perform alcohol and drug detection tests when officers require them during a check.
Refusing to perform these tests not only leads to a report but also authorizes officers to take additional measures, such as immobilizing the vehicle. With this action, the Local Police aim to ensure road safety for all public road users.
