The fire in Fermoselle (Zamora) has already ravaged over 11,000 hectares and maintains a perimeter of 75 kilometers, having caused the evacuation of 14 localities. Recklessness is considered the possible cause of this fire, which is concentrating its efforts on preventing the flames from reaching the Tormes and Duero canyons, given the forecast of strong wind gusts.
Meanwhile, President Pedro Sánchez has announced that the national emergency in Ávila and Madrid has been overcome, with evacuated populations able to return home. The burned area in Spain so far this year has been estimated at 180,000 hectares.
In Castellón, the fire in Vall d'Uixó, which started on Saturday, continues uncontrolled with an 82-kilometer perimeter and faces a "critical night." The burned hectares have been revised, reducing them to 9,300. Work has allowed for the consolidation of around 70% of the perimeter, but the fire is not yet stabilized. The improvement has allowed 1,800 residents from three new localities to return: Alfondeguilla, Chóvar, and Sueras.
In Castilla y León, 79 personnel from the Qatari contingent specialized in fighting forest fires have arrived to collaborate in extinguishing efforts. This deployment is part of a bilateral cooperation agreement on emergencies.
Other fires, such as the one in Toreno (León), show improvement, while the one in Veguellina maintains 300 evacuated people. In Sevilla, Plan Infoca is working on a fire in La Puebla de los Infantes. In Ciudad Real, a fire in Almagro that forced the evacuation of 30 people from a building has been controlled.
