The intervention, managed through the public company Tragsa, aims to ensure the safety of staff and users of the facilities. Technical studies have confirmed the presence of aluminosis, which has caused a significant loss of the building's load-bearing capacity.
The renovation project includes reinforcing the joists, rebuilding the restrooms, and adapting an adjacent property to temporarily house staff from the agricultural experimental station. The work has been divided among several companies in the sector to speed up the process.
The deadline set to complete these works is four months, with completion expected by September 28. This measure follows the emergency declaration approved by the Consell last May to prevent risks in the building.
