The measure, in effect until 11:59 PM this Monday, involves the suspension of work, commercial, and municipal activities in these three municipalities. The objective is to ensure public safety and facilitate the fire-fighting efforts, which has already consumed 6,500 hectares.
Approximately 16,000 residents from 18 towns and urbanizations in the south of the province of Castellón remain evacuated as a preventive measure. The firefighting deployment has been reinforced with 30 aerial units and over 450 ground personnel, including the Military Emergencies Unit and personnel from various autonomous communities.
Order 2/2026 from the Ministry of Emergencies and Interior, published in the Diari Oficial de la Generalitat Valenciana, establishes the temporary confinement. The emergency management may modify the measures based on the fire's evolution.
Non-essential businesses and shops will remain closed. Municipal buildings, day centers, and summer schools have also closed their doors in Onda, Betxí, and Vall d’Uixó. It is recommended to stay indoors and follow official channels.
The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, accompanied by the President of the Generalitat, Juanfran Pérez Llorca, Minister Diana Morant, and the Government Delegate, Pilar Bernabé, will visit the Advanced Command Post to assess the situation.
