Summer works at Burriana's seven public educational centers have included the creation of air-conditioned common spaces with shade, as well as the repair of awnings, goalposts, fire systems, patio improvements, boilers, security, and general maintenance. These enhancements ensure optimal facilities for the start of the 2026-2027 academic year.
The City Council, through the Department of Education, has focused investments on improving thermal comfort and creating new shaded areas. Interventions were coordinated across centers such as CEIP Padre Vilallonga, CEIP Penyagolosa, CEIP José Iturbi, CEIP Novenes de Calatrava, CEIP Cardenal Tarancón, CEIP Roca i Alcaide, and CEE Pla d’Hortolans.
Executed tasks include the repair and installation of awnings, adaptation of rubber flooring, locksmith work, door replacements, and conditioning of dirt playgrounds. Boiler rooms, electrical deficiencies, water leaks, and adapted elevators have also been addressed.
Security has been enhanced with the installation of alarms, video intercoms, doorbells, replacement of fire sirens, and repair of perimeter fencing. Additionally, new sports equipment has been provided, and deep cleaning and gardening tasks have been carried out.
Furthermore, finishing works at IES Jaume I and CEE Hortolans were coordinated. As a novelty, some centers have begun installing air conditioning equipment thanks to grants from the Generalitat Valenciana totaling 101,500 euros.
“"These actions are essential to ensure our schools are prepared to welcome students in the best conditions. Every investment responds to real needs communicated by the centers themselves and contributes to strengthening the quality of education in Burriana."
