The town of Vilafamés is immersed in preparations for its traditional Sant Miquel de Veremes festivities, which will take place from September 25th to 27th. The Sant Miquel Hermitage, located in the El Mollet municipal natural park, will be the focal point of the events planned to honor the patron saint.
Maintenance work has been carried out on the access road to the hermitage to facilitate vehicular traffic and ensure that all residents can reach it without difficulty. The program, designed by the association Amics de l’Ermita de Sant Miquel in collaboration with the Vilafamés City Council, will begin on Friday the 25th.
On Friday, at 7 PM, there will be a 'tardeo' (afternoon gathering) at the l’Estepar municipal sports center, followed by a parade by the Drums and Tambourines Group of the association. The evening will conclude with a fellowship dinner, bingo, and a disco mobile.
On Saturday the 26th, children can enjoy a playground at Plaça la Tanca from 10 AM to 1 PM. The hermitage will be open from 12:30 PM to 7 PM to receive offerings. In the afternoon, starting at 5 PM, traditional games will be organized for all ages.
Sunday the 27th, the main day of the festivities, the hermitage will host a popular breakfast from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM, featuring cured sardine, peppers, fried egg, and tomato. At 2:30 PM, a monumental paella will be served, following a musical 'vermut' with live music. The hermitage will remain open for visits throughout the day. The celebration will conclude at 5 PM with a mass in honor of Sant Miquel de Veremes and a closing performance by the drums and tambourines.
