The festivals in Oropesa del Mar in honor of Saint James the Apostle will be held from July 21st to 26th, 2026. The program, designed for residents, visitors, and families, will offer six days of events blending tradition, music, shows, children's activities, culture, bullfighting proposals, and popular gatherings in various locations across the municipality.
The Plaza Mayor, the Plaza de Toros (bullring), the Recinto Multiusos (multi-purpose venue), the parish church of San Jaime, the José Rivera Forner esplanade, and several streets in the center will be the main stages for these festivities. The full program will also be available in print at the Tourist Offices, the Town Hall, and the Museum.
On Tuesday, July 21st, the festivities will kick off at 7:00 PM with the firing of announcing rockets by pyrotechnics company Tomás. Following the general ringing of bells and the mass for the deceased, music will arrive at 10:00 PM with the Colla de Dolçainers i Tabaleters Embolic Orpesa in the Plaza Mayor. The day will conclude with 'correfocs' (fire runs) at 11:30 PM.
Wednesday, July 22nd, will feature a children's and family escape room ('Misión espacial') at 11:00 AM in the Recinto Multiusos. At 5:00 PM, the children's book 'San Jaime, una historia que contar' will be presented. The afternoon will include a children's bull run (6:00 PM) and a performance by magician James Garibo (8:00 PM) in the Plaza Mayor. The night will end with the Noche del Grand Prix in the Plaza de Toros.
Thursday, July 23rd, will offer the 'Vilantic' market for antiques, collectibles, and crafts (10:00 AM - 10:00 PM) at the Recinto Multiusos. At 11:00 AM, there will be family theater ('El viaje de Rico') in the Plaza Mayor, followed by the traditional bull run in the Oropesa style (1:00 PM) with cattle from Alberto Garrido. The afternoon will include the San Jaime market and bullfighting exhibitions.
Friday, July 24th, will be marked by children's activities such as 'globotraca' (balloon games) and workshops (11:00 AM). The bull run in the Oropesa style with cattle from El Gallo will take place at 1:00 PM. The afternoon will feature the 'Haz tu farolet tradicional' (Make your traditional lantern) workshop (7:00 PM) and bullfighting exhibitions. The day will culminate with the IV National Emboladores Contest (11:45 PM).
Saturday, July 25th, the main day of San Jaime, will include the XXV San Jaime Regatta and the XL 'Playas de Oropesa' swimming crossing. After the solemn mass (11:30 AM), there will be bullfighting exhibitions and the 'desencajonada' (release of bulls) for the festival organizers. Music will arrive with a tribute to Extremo Duro (9:00 PM), and the night will end with bulls in sacks and embolated bulls.
The festivities will conclude on Sunday, July 26th, with a bicycle day (9:00 AM), a giant water slide (11:00 AM), and a new bull run in the Oropesa style with cattle from Iván Miró (1:00 PM). The afternoon will include bullfighting exhibitions and the market. Dancing with the orchestra Monkey Band (11:00 PM) and the traditional fireworks display (midnight) will mark the end of the celebrations.
