The municipality of Les Coves de Vinromà is in the final stages of preparation for its anticipated August 2026 Festivities. From August 14th to 23rd, the town will become the main summer meeting point for residents, holidaymakers, and visitors from across the region. Over ten days, a program has been organized that blends the most traditional events with new cultural, sports, and leisure proposals designed to appeal to all audiences.
In the days leading up to the official start, various activities have already been scheduled, including sports events, a concert by the Unió Musical Covarxina, dance and wellness workshops, and an organized observation of the solar eclipse planned for August 12th.
The official opening of the festivities will take place on August 14th, with a day featuring the traditional opening speech, exhibitions, the popular gathering, bell ringing, and the parade of floats, one of the most crowded events on the program. The night will conclude with a communal dinner and a grand celebration, ushering in ten consecutive days of festive activities.
The celebrations in honor of the Mare de Déu de l'Assumpció and Sant Roc will mark the central days. The Grup de Danses de les Coves and the traditional Ball Pla will once again be key highlights, underscoring the central role of popular culture in these days.
The second week of festivities will be dominated by bullfighting events, including bull parades, livestock trials, 'bous de corro', and 'bous embolats' from August 17th to 22nd, also organized by the Associació Cultural Taurina. Additionally, there will be afternoon gatherings, popular dinners, musical performances, and contests.
Music will play a prominent role with orchestras, mobile mega-discos, and local bands performing at the Ravaleta venue. Activities for children, sports events, and cultural workshops will complete a transversal program aimed at engaging all generations.
August 23rd, the Dia de la Joia (Day of Joy), will mark the end of the festivities with popular races, a communal lunch, the 'Ball Pla' route through the town's streets, and the farewell of the 'Regines' and 'Dames' before the final firecracker display and fireworks.
With a program that combines heritage, tradition, music, gastronomy, and popular participation, Les Coves de Vinromà is gearing up for festivities that aim to be a major summer highlight in the Castelló region once again.
