The Serradal beach in Castellón will continue its 'Slow Beach' program until December 31st, extending the activities that were well-received during the summer months. The Castellón City Council decided to extend the program in response to user requests to maintain these offerings beyond the summer season.
The program includes sessions of Chi Kung and Taoist Exercises, activities focused on well-being and exercise in a privileged coastal environment. During the summer, these classes averaged approximately 50 participants per session, demonstrating public interest in such initiatives.
The new schedule begins on September 14th and runs until December 31st. Activities will take place every Monday and Wednesday, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, ensuring the Serradal beach remains active through the autumn and into the winter.
“"The Serradal Slow Beach has been a success this summer. We've seen how residents have responded very positively to the Chi Kung and Taoist Exercises classes, which shows there's a real interest in enjoying our beaches in a different way, linked to well-being and healthy activity."
Tourism Councilor Arantxa Miralles highlighted the initiative's success, stating that "it was the users themselves who asked us to continue these activities." She added, "when an initiative works and receives such a response, the City Council must listen and continue what the people of Castellón ask for."
Miralles emphasized, "We want the Serradal beach to remain a vibrant space even outside the summer months." She noted that the 'Slow Beach' proposal "perfectly fits the characteristics of this environment and allows us to offer a healthy, tranquil leisure alternative linked to well-being for a significant part of the year."
The councilor also highlighted "the unique character of Serradal within Castellón's coastline," emphasizing that "each of our beaches has its own characteristics, and we want to showcase them." She remarked that Serradal "offers magnificent conditions for developing these types of activities and transforming the beach into a meeting point for relaxation and enjoyment throughout the autumn and winter months."
This program extension is part of the Castellón City Council's commitment to diversifying its coastal offerings and promoting tourism beyond peak seasons, creating new reasons for people to visit the city's beaches throughout the year.
