On the occasion of Castellón's 775th anniversary, the Municipal Tourism Board has launched an educational and entertaining initiative: 'The Birth of a City'. This theatrical guided tour aims to bring the origins of the Plana capital to attendees in an engaging way.
The Councilor for Tourism, Arantxa Miralles, highlighted the importance of this celebration for remembering the city's present and past. "Valuing our roots, our history, and our heritage is also a way of strengthening our bond with our city," she stated.
The tour includes the participation of historical characters who will transport participants to the early days of Castellón. A knight and his wife, arriving to start a new life in the Benérabe farmhouse, and a young Mudéjar apprentice builder, who will illustrate daily life and construction techniques of the era, will serve as guides.
The objective, according to Miralles, is for the celebration not to be just a date, but an opportunity for citizens to learn about the first city, its inhabitants, and how the foundations of modern Castellón were laid. Special emphasis is placed on introducing this history to younger generations.
The tours will take place on September 4, 7, 9, 11, 13, 18, and 20, at 7:00 PM. The activity is free of charge but requires prior registration through the link provided by the organization.
