The competition, which will run until Sunday, features 30 teams and nearly 400 players from the U15, U17, and U19 categories. The Councilor for Sports, Maica Hurtado, highlighted the strong youth development in women's volleyball and the city's organizational capacity, expecting around 1,500 people including players, coaches, and companions throughout the weekend.
Organized by the Club Volei Grau de Castelló, the tournament includes teams from various parts of Spain. Specifically, there are 7 Catalan teams from Barcelona, 2 teams from Teruel, 5 teams from València, and 16 teams from the province of Castelló. A total of 74 matches will be played across six courts at the Pablo Herrera del Grau pavilion and the Ciudad Deportiva.
One of the championship's distinctive features is its personalized trophies, designed with symbols representative of the province of Castelló, reinforcing the tournament's connection to the region and the city's sports brand. The event also serves to promote women's sports.
