On October 7th, IATS-CSIC hosted a scientific ringing event for passerine birds, organized by the Valencian Government's Ministry of Environment.

On Wednesday, October 7th, a scientific ringing session for passerine birds took place as part of the IATS-CSIC Seminars. This activity, offered by staff from the Conselleria de Medi Ambient, Infraestructures, Territori i de la Recuperació de la Generalitat Valenciana, aims to introduce this study methodology and its importance for understanding and conserving wild bird populations.
The event saw a significant turnout from IATS personnel and was led by Devorah Fandos Fernández and Jesús Tena Caballer, guides from the Parc Natural del Prat de Cabanes-Torreblanca, along with Francisco Javier Rodríguez Díaz, a technician from the same park.
During the practical session, several passerine bird specimens were temporarily captured and subsequently ringed. Scientific ringing is a key tool for gathering relevant information on aspects such as animal identification, biometrics, physical condition, territorial movements, survival rates, and population dynamics in the area.
