The Pau Gasol Pavilion in l’Alfàs del Pi hosted a pádel tournament organized by the Mayorales de Sant Josep 2027 commission, aiming to raise funds for the upcoming festivities.

The competition brought together more than 70 pádel enthusiasts across various categories: 3rd, 4th, and 5th men's, and 5th women's. Throughout the weekend, the Mayorales also operated a popular bar at the pavilion, creating a meeting point for participants and their families.
In the 5th women's category, Sandra Martinez and Alba Román were crowned champions, while Inés and Mari secured the runner-up position. In the 5th men's category, the victory went to Quico Such and Borja Devesa, with Víctor and Antonio as the second-place finishers.
For the 4th men's category, Juandi Gómez and Pepe Martínez emerged as champions, with David Esteban and Edu Carvajal taking the runner-up spot. Finally, in the 3rd men's category, Juanfran and Karim were the winners, while Alex Gámez and Marcos Gómez finished as runners-up.
This tournament is part of the activities being promoted by the Mayorales de Sant Josep 2027 to advance fundraising for next year's festivities. The Penya Barraka Foska is assuming the Mayoralía this year and is already working on the festive program for March 2027, under the presidency of Paco Más.
The Councilor for Fiestas and Traditions of the l’Alfàs del Pi City Council, Sandra Gómez, congratulated the participants and highlighted the Mayorales' initiative. "This tournament demonstrates, once again, that festivities are built with the participation and involvement of many people," she stated, emphasizing how activities like this help raise funds while offering leisure and sports options to citizens.
Gómez also thanked everyone involved for making the tournament possible and encouraged citizens to continue supporting the activities organized by the Mayorales. "Every initiative and every collaboration helps in preparing festivities that we hope will once again feature a broad program and be enjoyed by the entire population," she added.
