The L'Alfàs del Pi City Council has retained the Ecovidrio Green Flag, a recognition of sustainability and glass recycling, particularly during the summer.

During the months of June, July, and August, L'Alfàs del Pi collected 167,750 kilograms of glass, a figure that has prevented the emission of 97 tonnes of CO₂ into the atmosphere. This success is the result of collaboration between citizens and the hospitality sector, who have contributed to waste management and the fight against climate change.
The Councilor for the Environment, Luis Morant, thanked the establishments and residents for their involvement, highlighting that the renewal of the Green Flag demonstrates that joint work can achieve important objectives for the municipality and the environment. “Retaining this distinction is a cause for satisfaction, because it shows that when administrations, companies, and citizens work in the same direction, we can achieve important goals for the benefit of our municipality and the environment,” he stated.
The Green Flag is part of Ecovidrio's Green Flags Movement, which rewards municipalities and the hospitality industry for their commitment to the sustainable management of glass packaging waste. L'Alfàs del Pi has renewed this distinction thanks to joint efforts in promoting a circular economy.
Morant encouraged maintaining this commitment throughout the year, emphasizing that “every gesture counts, and together, we can reduce pollution, save natural resources, and contribute to leaving a healthier and more sustainable municipality for future generations.”
