The Mayor of L'Alfàs del Pi, Vicente Arques, and the Councilor for Commerce, Patrick de Meirsman, have welcomed Dioni Navarro, the new provincial president of Jovempa, on his first official visit to the municipality after his election last Friday. The meeting also included the vice-president of Jovempa Marina Baixa, Eva Rodríguez; the Councilor for Youth, Carolina Solbes; the councilor for European Funds, Dolores Albero, and the Councilor for Tourism, Luis Miguel Morant.
Dioni Navarro, a businessman from Benidorm and until now president of Jovempa Marina Baixa, was elected provincial president during the general assembly held in Benidorm, succeeding Alfonso Calero. Mayor Arques, who attended the election event, wanted to accompany the new provincial head at the start of this new phase.
During the meeting, the main lines of work for Jovempa were discussed, focusing on promoting digitalization, training, and services for associated companies, strengthening the relationship between companies and territories in the province, and increasing the visibility of the organization and young Alicante entrepreneurs. Navarro highlighted the objective of enhancing Jovempa's capacity to represent the interests of young entrepreneurs, who currently bring together over 600 companies and 1,500 entrepreneurs in the province.
The new strategy also includes better coordination among regional associations, new avenues for collaboration with other autonomous communities, and a greater presence of Jovempa in national forums.
Vicente Arques congratulated Navarro and emphasized the importance of maintaining a close relationship with the business community. “For L'Alfàs del Pi, it is important to have a fluid relationship with Jovempa and continue generating spaces for meeting and collaboration with our entrepreneurs and businesspeople. Young entrepreneurs bring new ideas, innovation capacity, and a vision for the future that is fundamental for the economic development of our municipalities,” he stated.
The mayor highlighted Navarro's track record leading Jovempa Marina Baixa and his understanding of the region's business reality. “Dioni knows firsthand the needs and opportunities of our territory, and we are convinced that this experience will be very positive now that he assumes the provincial presidency. From the City Council, we offer him our collaboration to continue promoting initiatives that favor entrepreneurship, business activity, and the generation of opportunities for young people,” he added.
The collaboration between the City Council and Jovempa Marina Baixa has been ongoing for over a decade. The City Council signs an annual agreement with the Association of Young Entrepreneurs of the Marina Baixa, chaired by Dioni Navarro, with a contribution of 10,000 euros, aimed at fostering self-employment, innovation, and business training among the municipality's youth.
Dioni Navarro will continue to balance the provincial presidency with that of Jovempa Marina Baixa in the coming months. The handover in the regional association is planned for March-April 2027.
This meeting marks a first point of contact between the new provincial president of Jovempa and the L'Alfàs del Pi council, continuing a consolidated collaboration and opening new avenues for joint work to support entrepreneurship and the young business community.
