The City Council of L'Alfàs del Pi organized an emergency drill today at the Pau Gasol Pavilion to reinforce the training of municipal personnel and verify the effectiveness of response and evacuation protocols for potential risk situations.

The exercise is part of the drill program that the council is progressively implementing across various municipal buildings and facilities, coordinated by the Human Resources department. Prior to this event, similar exercises had already been conducted at the Town Hall and the House of Culture, with plans to continue the program in other municipal areas.
These actions are carried out in compliance with the Emergency Response Plan of the L'Alfàs del Pi City Council, approved this year by the Governing Board, which mandates annual drills in municipal facilities.
“

"We are complying with the provisions of the Emergency Response Plan, which includes conducting annual drills in municipal facilities. It is essential for staff to know how to act in a risk situation and be prepared to respond quickly and in an orderly manner."

Dolores Albero · Councillor for Human Resources
Albero added that "these exercises allow us to verify that the protocols are functioning correctly, identify potential areas for improvement, and enhance coordination among staff. Prevention and preparation are essential to ensure the safety of everyone who works in or uses municipal facilities."
For his part, the Councillor for Sports, José Plaza, highlighted the importance of including sports facilities in this prevention program, given their daily use and the diverse age groups that frequent them. "Sports pavilions are spaces with high activity where athletes, clubs, schoolchildren, and the public converge. Therefore, it is crucial to have facilities prepared to respond to any situation and ensure that those who use them can do so safely," he stated.
The drills enable the evaluation of emergency procedures, verification of evacuation system functionality, and improvement of staff coordination in the event of a real incident. Furthermore, they help familiarize staff with safety measures and the guidelines to follow in an emergency.
Through this program, the L'Alfàs del Pi City Council continues to advance in the implementation of occupational risk prevention measures and in enhancing the safety of its public buildings, both for municipal staff and for the public who visit these facilities daily.
