Activities will commence in the morning and continue until the afternoon, offering options for all ages. At 11:00 AM, the Hogar del Pensionista (Pensioner's Home) will host the family workshop ‘Cavaller/a de Jaume I’ (Knight of James I), aimed at children aged 4 and up. This activity, with limited spots, requires prior registration by emailing festes.alfas@gmail.com.
Subsequently, at 12:00 PM, the manifesto for October 9th will be read, this year by Vicent Llorca Mascarell. Following this, the awards for the 'pebrereta' (a traditional dish) contest will be presented, one of the gastronomic traditions featured in the festival's program.
The celebration will continue at 12:15 PM with traditional dances performed by the Queen and Maids of Honor 2026, accompanied by 'xirimita' (bagpipe) and 'tabalet' (drum). The organization invites all residents and visitors to join the dance, participating in one of the day's most representative traditions. After the dances, there will be a candy 'traca' (firecracker string) for the youngest attendees and a popular appetizer.
The Councilor for Festivals and Traditions, Sandra Gómez, emphasized October 9th as a date to celebrate Valencian identity and traditions, as well as to pass them on to new generations. She highlighted that the day has been designed for family enjoyment, promoting participation in local customs through music, dances, and gastronomy.
The October 9th program will conclude at 4:30 PM with the children's play ‘Els secrets de Mr. Stromboli’ (Mr. Stromboli's Secrets), an activity organized in collaboration with the Culture Department. This event will mark the end of a festive day that combines tradition, culture, and activities for all citizens.
