La Vila Vella, held from Friday, September 11th to Sunday, September 13th, has concluded a successful edition in Villajoyosa. The historic center, known for its colorful houses, was filled with residents and visitors enjoying a wide variety of cultural initiatives.
The official opening took place on Friday at 9:30 PM in the Plaza de la Iglesia, but prior to that, attendees could already experience artistic interventions, guided tours, a zip line, a hot air balloon ride, and a food truck area.
Saturday's program featured the most activities, including a quick painting contest, children's cooking and drawing workshops, a tattoo zone, electro-flamenco tango shows, street opera, magic performances, street art exhibitions, a tattoo zone at the Casa de la Joventud, and a vermouth area in the Plaza de la Iglesia, alongside a photographic exhibition.
Saturday night offered gospel music with the city walls as a backdrop at Costera la Mar, followed by the multidisciplinary show Quan cau el llençol in the Plaza de la Generalitat, which concluded with fireworks. The day ended at Playa Centro with a videomapping projection on the colorful houses and an orchestra on the sand, accompanied by another fireworks display.
On Sunday, guided tours of the historic center, the zip line, the vermouth area in the Plaza de la Iglesia, and a musical performance by Dossier continued.
Throughout the weekend, the Open House festival provided free public access to a selection of 14 properties and spaces of architectural and historical interest, such as Casa Grafito, Casa del Ratoncito Pérez, the Torrejó de la Plaza Generalitat, and the terrace and balcony of the Casa de la Joventut.
The event is organized by the Villajoyosa City Council with the support of approximately 200 volunteers.
