The Councilor for Culture, Marisa Mingot, explained that the City Council applied for the annual grant call from the Alicante Provincial Council for cultural, musical, and performing arts activities. She noted that the performances featured professional companies and artists with recognized careers, aiming to promote culture from an early age and appeal to all audiences.
The grant specifically funded several events. In music, the performance “Waterfalls” took place in September at the Barbera auditorium. The poetic-musical recital “Marc Granell, Recitable” was held on October 31st in the Don Pedro hall.
The family and children's program included the Christmas musical event “Cuentos Mágicos” on December 23rd, followed by the puppet show “Bobo” by Periferia Teatro on December 29th at the Teatre Auditori.
In 2026, the offerings continued with the talk and exhibition “Acuarela a Sorbos”, presented by Consuelo López Catalá and Edyta Plodzien, on January 9th at the Espai d’Art Contemporani. On April 13th, the same venue hosted the shadow and object theater for early childhood “¿Qué se esconde?” by Pàmpol Teatre. The family puppet program concluded with “Jagilló, el porquet verd blau” by La Carreta Teatro on May 23rd at the Centro Social.
Finally, the Doña Concha Gardens in La Barbera hosted the poetic-literary concert “Brontë” by Guiem Soldevila on May 30th. On June 18th, the adult storytelling event “Amantes Amados” by Raquel López was presented. The program concluded on July 9th with a jazz performance by the duo formed by María Gil and Dee Jay Foster.
