The Espai d’Art Contemporani la Barbera dels Aragonés hosts this ambitious artistic display, the result of the career of Javier Melús, a renowned artist born in Tudela in 1961. The inauguration will take place this Tuesday, September 8th, at 6:30 PM.
The exhibition, open to the public until October 30th, showcases a creative universe that merges disciplines such as graphic design, advertising, comics, fashion, and urban art. Melús's work is framed within the Pop Art movement, where iconic images of popular culture gain a new dimension on the canvas.
The Councilor for Culture, Marisa Mingot, highlighted that the exhibition "is full of color and will transport us to a movement that was highly successful." She invited "all residents and visitors" to attend the exhibition to "let themselves be infused by the spirit of Pop Art".
Javier Melús's work combines a palette of intense colors, flat figures, and references to cinema, music, and everyday consumption. According to the description, his paintings "do not seek to impose a rigid message or indoctrinate," but rather "elevate the everyday to the category of fundamental art," inviting the viewer to reconnect with references from their own collective memory from a "fresh and lighthearted perspective".
