The city of Villajoyosa is preparing for the second edition of Wine & Fish, taking place on September 18th in the gardens of the Barbera dels Aragonés park. This event, part of the “La Vila Gastronómica” calendar, will bring together key players in local gastronomy: fresh market produce and culinary creations from local restaurants, paired with selected wines.
The white shrimp of Villajoyosa will have a prominent role, with various dishes presented by participating restaurants. Attendees can sample these creations accompanied by wines from collaborating wineries, in a space designed to discover new pairings.
In addition to gastronomy, the event will feature wine tastings to explore different references and delve into the world of wine in an enjoyable way. One of the most anticipated moments will be the final of the first Carlos Llorca Baus competition, dedicated to young talents in Mediterranean cuisine, an initiative aimed at supporting emerging talent.
The organization, managed by the Commerce and Tourism departments, is supported by various entities including Bodegas Fincal, Turisme de la Generalitat Valenciana, L’Exquisit Mediterrani, the Provincial Council of Alicante, GALP La Marina, VilaGourmet, the Market, and the Fishermen's Guild of La Vila Joiosa.
Advance tickets can be purchased until September 16th for 20 euros at local establishments such as Catavinos, Especialitats Lloret, Restaurante Cabanon, and Jugettos. On the day of the event, the price will be 25 euros at the box office. Each ticket includes a commemorative glass, four wine tastings, a mojito, and a raffle ticket.
The Councilor for Tourism and Commerce, Rosa Llorca, highlighted that Wine & Fish celebrates the roots of Villajoyosa and creates new gastronomic experiences, boosting economic activity and promoting the town as a tourist destination.
