The celebration of this sporting event will involve street closures and parking restrictions on the roads along the route, as well as in the area designated for the cyclists' paddock.
Stage 9 will depart at 12:20 PM from the central beach promenade of Villajoyosa. The 187-kilometer route with a 5,100-meter elevation gain promises to be one of the toughest of the edition, featuring six mountain passes.
The cycling peloton will undertake a neutralized start from the front line of the beach, traversing Costera la Mar, Avenida País Valencià, Calle Barranquet, Avenida Benidorm, Calle Colón, the roundabout on Avenida del Puerto, and the road crossing the Secanet area to connect with the CV-759 towards Finestrat.
These streets will be closed to traffic, and parking will be restricted. Adjacent roads will also be closed while the event takes place. Parking restrictions on the route's streets will be in effect from Saturday, August 29th, at 4:00 PM, until Sunday, August 30th, at 3:00 PM.
The area of l'Antoneta and Calle Méndez Núñez, where the cycling paddock will be located, will be closed to traffic and parking from Friday, August 28th, at 5:00 PM, until Sunday, August 30th, at 3:00 PM. Access to the public parking at Playa Centro will also be restricted.
Other streets such as Calle Pelayo, the bridge over the Río Amadorio, and the Playa Centro promenade will also experience temporary closures.
As a parking alternative, the municipality will offer dissuasive parking areas such as the Mercadillo (market) grounds, the parking lot opposite the Chocolates Valor factory, and those located on Calle Cervantes and Altea, which will be expanded to accommodate more vehicles.
The Villajoyosa City Council urges residents to stay informed through official channels for any changes or modifications, and to observe road signage.
The stage 9, characterized by its high mountain difficulty, will cover 187 kilometers from Villajoyosa to the Sierra de Aitana, including ascents to passes like El Miserat and the Puerto de Tudons. The Sierra de Aitana returns to La Vuelta after a decade.
