Villajoyosa Celebrates Sports Day with 23 Activities Open to the Public

The Pantano sports facilities in Villajoyosa will host a sports-focused day on September 3, 2026, featuring 23 activities open to the public and expecting over 400 participants.

Sport returns to the forefront in Villajoyosa with the celebration of Sports Day 2026, a day designed for local clubs and entities to enjoy up to 23 sports activities. The event will take place at the Pantano sports facilities and anticipates the participation of over 400 people.
The initiative, organized by the Sports Department of the Villajoyosa City Council, is conceived as a celebration open to the public. According to the Councilor for Sports, Peyo Lloret, anyone wishing to join can participate and enjoy the various offerings.
The program will commence at 6:00 PM with the arrival of athletes and the collection of t-shirts at the rugby field. At 6:30 PM, the activities will begin, running concurrently across the different sports areas of the Pantano.
Athletics, triathlon, table tennis, chess, rowing, rhythmic gymnastics, karate, taekwondo, futsal, handball, basketball, cycling, archery, paddle tennis, Valencian pilota, football, rugby, tennis, and mountain activities will be among the disciplines featured.
Highlights include a popular duathlon, quick chess matches, rowing activities, skill circuits, shooting contests, a cycling gymkhana, introductory pilota sessions, football and rugby activities, and a climbing wall. These activities will utilize various spaces such as the rugby field, sports courts, pavilion, central track, pumptrack, paddle tennis courts, fronton, tennis court, and the outdoor archery zone.
The day will conclude at 8:00 PM with the traditional 'third half' at the rugby canteen, a moment for gathering and camaraderie among athletes, clubs, families, and participants, stated Peyo Lloret.
Under the slogan “Together, a more active Vila!”, Sports Day aims to promote healthy lifestyle habits and bring sports closer to the entire population. Participation does not require club membership, as the day is open to anyone who wishes to attend, discover the activities, and join the celebration.
