Albir beach hosts this Saturday, October 24th, the III Albir Organic Fair, an event that will bring together 18 organic producers to offer a wide variety of local foods and products. The fair will be open from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM on the Paseo de las Estrellas.
Attendees can find products such as olive oil, cheese, figs, pomegranates, almonds, jams, nougats, beers, fruits, vegetables, cosmetics, and beds, all with the organic seal. According to José Antonio Rico, president of ASECOCV, the Valencian Community has over 140,000 hectares dedicated to organic farming and more than 700 companies in the sector, emphasizing that "we have the right to healthy food".
The program includes free activities such as a cooking workshop led by dietitian Rosa Miralles, titled ‘Lovers of healthy and balanced cooking’, taking place at the Biblioplaya from 12:30 PM to 1:15 PM. The workshop will focus on dishes made with organic vegetables and homemade sauces.
As a prelude, on Friday, October 23rd, at 6:30 PM, the informative session ‘Right to healthy food’ will be held at CEA Carabineros. Four renowned professionals, including Dolores Raigón (UPV professor), Francisco Mata Rabasa (naturopathic doctor), Elia Carceller Sauras (Director of IMAS), and Maria Marín Peiró (nutritionist), will discuss food quality, food sovereignty, and sustainability.
The L'Alfàs del Pi City Council, through its departments of Tourism, Environment, Health, and Commerce, supports this initiative that promotes responsible lifestyle habits and sustainability. The event, organized by ASECOCV with sponsorship from the Generalitat Valenciana, consolidates its third edition as a meeting point between producers and consumers.
Saturday's cooking workshop will include practical tips and a 'showcooking' of rice wafers filled with vegetables and peanut sauce, followed by a free tasting. The aim is to enhance the fair's educational and participatory nature, aligning with the municipal commitment to a healthier community.
