The initiative, centered on the drought issue following the recent World Day to Combat Desertification and Drought, seeks to raise awareness about the need for good water management by all citizens and visitors. José Ramón González de Zárate, councilor for the Water Cycle area, has highlighted the campaign's importance in a region still experiencing drought conditions.
González de Zárate emphasized that for Benidorm, achieving excellent water management is "a priority," an objective demonstrated by improved consumption data despite population and tourist increases. He noted that ongoing and planned investments, such as the first urban network for reused water, are crucial for ensuring supply.
The councilor also highlighted the investments made by the Generalitat Valenciana in the city and the region, which contribute to greater water savings and allow access to alternative supply sources like regenerated water from the treatment plant.
He concluded by stressing the importance of continued investment to guarantee supply for all citizens and tourists, even as the drought persists. The campaign will be visible through numerous posters displayed throughout the urban area of Benidorm.
