A motorboat sank off the coast of Portitxol, specifically in the cove of La Falzia and Cap Negre, an area frequently used for mooring by recreational boats. Maritime Rescue quickly initiated a rescue operation with their vessel Salvamar Fénix, which departed from the Xàbia port base.
While official help was en route, one of the many boats in the area, the Borso IV, rescued the six shipwrecked individuals. The motorboat had a water ingress and sank rapidly. Subsequently, the Salvamar Fénix took the crew members from the vessel that had gone down.
Maritime Rescue thanked the Borso IV for their actions. None of the shipwrecked were injured, although they experienced a significant scare. The sunken boat has been marked with a buoy to prevent collisions with other vessels.
