The Marina Alta region is bracing for 48 hours of extreme weather conditions. Following a warm Friday morning with high temperatures, where thermometers did not drop below 26 degrees Celsius in locations such as Dénia, Benissa, El Verger, and Pego, it is expected that on Friday, August 14th, temperatures will officially exceed 36 degrees Celsius, triggering a yellow alert for high temperatures between 12:00 PM and 8:00 PM.
Climatic uncertainty continues for tomorrow, Saturday, August 15th, when a new yellow alert will be activated, this time for rain. The warning will be active from 2:00 PM to 9:59 PM, with the possibility of accumulating up to 20 mm of precipitation in one hour. There is also a risk of storms, accompanied by hail and strong wind gusts.
The rain forecast for Saturday could affect numerous social, cultural, and festive events scheduled for this major tourist weekend, including the gala parade of the Moors and Christians in Dénia. According to AEMET, the highest probabilities of precipitation are expected in the interior of the region.
