The heatwave has severely impacted the Marina Alta this Wednesday, exceeding 41 degrees in some locations and surpassing initial forecasts.

The Marina Alta experienced an intense heatwave this Wednesday, with temperatures reaching over 41 degrees Celsius, surpassing initial expectations. The orange alert for high temperatures, active from 13:00 to 21:00, had predicted highs of 39 degrees in the inland areas of the region.
The highest temperature recorded by the network of stations from the Valencian Association of Meteorology (Avamet) was in La Vall d’Alcalà, reaching 41.1 degrees. Other municipalities such as El Ràfol d’Almúnia and Pedreguer hit 40.8 degrees, while Benigembla registered 40.2 degrees.
Seven other towns exceeded 39 degrees: Castell de Castells (39.9), Murla (39.8), Orba (39.8), Parcent (39.7 at La Font del Llavador), La Vall d’Ebo (39.3), Dénia (39.2 at Corral de Calafat), and Sagra (39.2).
The heat was relentless, and the preceding night was also particularly torrid. Minimum temperatures did not drop below 27.1 degrees in Moraira, nor below 26.8 in Calp or Dénia. Unlike the daytime highs, the highest nighttime temperatures were concentrated along the coast.
