After a brief respite, temperatures will rise progressively. The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has issued a yellow warning for Thursday, July 30, effective from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with values potentially reaching 37 degrees.
According to data from the Climatology Laboratory of the University of Alicante, this weather event is caused by a heat dome settling over the Peninsula. The phenomenon will be reinforced by the arrival of warm air and suspended dust from North Africa.
Forecasts indicate that the heat will intensify over the weekend. For Saturday, August 1, 39 degrees are expected in the pre-coastal area, while on Sunday, August 2, the mercury could hit 42 degrees. Furthermore, minimum temperatures will not drop below 25 degrees, leading to tropical nights in many areas near the sea.
