A 23-year-old man suffered a gruesome accident this morning in Xàbia while returning from a party with friends. The incident occurred around 6 AM at a tourist rental villa in the Senioles area. The young man, who did not have the keys to the property, decided to jump over the sliding gate, which is protected with "spearheads" to deter intruders. The bad idea resulted in his arm being impaled on one of these "arrows", leaving him trapped and causing terrible screams of pain.
The rescue was quickly organized. Patrols from the Local Police, a medical team from the SAMU, and firefighters from the Dénia station responded. The firefighters' intervention was crucial to cut the metal and free the young man. Subsequently, the SAMU transported him to the Dénia hospital.
This incident is part of a summer marked by several accidents in the Marina Alta region. Additionally, around 10:30 AM, a 37-year-old cleaning worker suffered a fall on a service ladder in a development on Vía Augusta in Xàbia. The Local Police, Guardia Civil, firefighters, and a Basic Life Support ambulance also attended. In this case, the worker did not suffer serious injuries, and firefighters immobilized him to be transferred to the hospital by paramedics.
