EcoAltea is reinventing itself for its 16th edition, evolving from a weekend fair to a program of activities taking place from October 1st to 25th under the slogan “EcoAltea pel Poble”. The aim is to bring the values of ecology, healthy eating, sustainable agriculture, and craftsmanship to all neighborhoods, generations, and corners of the Altea municipality.
The program, to be detailed in early September, will include healthy eating workshops at the Cooking Classroom and sustainable agriculture workshops at the municipal urban gardens. Videoforums will also be held at the Social Center with documentary screenings and subsequent discussions, alongside school activities in local educational institutions. EcoAltea 2026 will also be present at key October events such as Fesporrat, the celebration of October 9th, and the Fira del Joc, featuring an information stand to raise awareness and recruit volunteers.
“"Sustainability is not a two-day event: it's a way of living and building community. With 'EcoAltea pel Poble' we want that idea to reach every neighborhood, every generation, and every corner of the municipality."
Ana Such, coordinator of EcoAltea 2026, emphasizes that sustainability will be considered in the organization of events, utilizing existing public spaces and collaborating with local initiatives to reduce resource deployment. The central day, open to everyone, will take place on Sunday, October 25th, featuring expert round tables, traditional craft workshops, and participatory activities for all ages.
